SHARJAH // A man has been taken into custody after allegedly sexually assaulting his daughters.
Police arrested the suspect, an Asian expatriate, after receiving a call from one of the daughter’s teachers.
Medical tests carried out on the girls, aged 9 and 12, confirmed signs of sexual abuse.
The children are currently with their mother, while their father awaits trial.
Sharjah’s Children Protection hotline received the call after one of the children had told her teacher about the abuse, said Mohammed Mubarak, director of the hotline.
The abuse was carried out over several years, he said.
