A Bangladeshi prisoner escaped from custody after being taken to Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah yesterday.
He was taken to the hospital to have a leg injury treated, police said.
A police spokesman said the man had been detained over the illegal trade of alcohol.
Investigations are under way.
