SHARJAH // Three members of an Emirati family died and one was badly injured after a car crash on the Maliha Road on Thursday night.
The dead were identified as Salem al Kaabi, 60, his son Juma al Kaabi, 30, and his nephew Saeed Salim, also 30.
According to Col Ahmed bin Darwish, the head of the Sharjah Police patrol unit, the cause of the accident was excessive speed.
He said Salim, who had been driving, and one other person had died at the scene. The third victim died in hospital. Another son of Mr al Kaabi, Hassan al Kaabi, 26, remained in Madam Hospital in stable condition.
According to police, 152 people died on Sharjah's roads last year.
