DUBAI // An unemployed man who tried to blackmail a married woman into having sex with him will serve three months in jail.
Pakistani A A, 44, threatened he would defame 30-year-old B H, also Pakistani, if she did not comply with his wish.
He was charged with issuing threats and with abusing telecommunication means but he refused to attend court from his cell last October 19 to enter a plea, so was sentenced in his absence.
On March 7 and prior to that date, the man had been calling the woman and trying to blackmail her into having sex with him by threatening to spread damaging misinformation about her.
“He told me that he will tell my husband that I had been in an affair with him and that we had sex before. He also said that he possesses a video clip that shows me having sex with a man inside a car,” said the woman.
When he first called her, she said he was speaking in a woman’s voice. “Then he changed his voice back to a man’s voice and started saying that I texted him my number and that he was my lover,” said the woman.
Her husband testified that he had questioned B H, who is his second wife, and she said she had never met the man.
“I took her and we went to a police station and reported him,” said the 44-year-old husband, S S.
A A will deported after serving his sentence.
