DUBAI// A salesman accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl was not present in court to enter a plea against a charge of sexual assault.
The Dubai Criminal Court was told that on September 20 Bangladeshi M A, 30, allegedly molested the Emirati girl as she tried on an abaya at the shop where he worked.
Emirati K A, 34, testified that at nearly 9pm his wife called him and informed him of the incident and asked him to call police.
“She told me she had gone shopping in Mirdif at a mall with her younger sister,” said K A, adding that as the sister chose an abaya and went to the fitting room to try it on, the defendant molested her by touching her breast.
“She told me he got all tense when the police arrived and that her sister was in shock of what had happened,” said K A.
The defendant was not in court to enter a plea.
The next hearing will be on December 14.
