Two Emiratis were rescued after falling down a 50-metre deep mountain slope during a day trip in Ras Al Khaimah.

A police operation was launched after the men became trapped at Wadi Al Bih in the emirate at 4pm on Monday.

A rescue team raced to the area and managed to pull the stricken duo to safety using ropes.

Paramedics were also on hand to provide them with first aid at the scene.

Colonel Ahmad Al Naqbi, of RAK Police, issued a safety warning to the public, urging them to be cautious when in mountainous areas and steer clear of potential danger spots.
