Two residential towers on Reem Island were partly evacuated on Wednesday evening after air conditioning units broke down.
It is not known how many people living in Sun and Sky Towers were relocated while maintenance was carried out, but all those living on floors 1 to 35 were offered temporary accomodation for the night.
A maintenance worker for Khidmah, the manager of the buildings, and Sorouh Properties said they expected the issue to be resolved soon and apologised for the disruption.
Residents were offered rooms in Yas Viceroy Hotel as repair work was carried out.
