Ras Al Khaimah Municipality has impounded 45 vehicles that were left abandoned in the streets of the emirate since the mid July.
Mondher Bin Shakar Al Zaabi, director general of the department, said that inspectors begin by placing a sticker on the vehicle calling its owner to move it within one week.
If the vehicle is not moved, it is seized and ultimately sold in an auction if it remains unclaimed by the owner for a period of six months.
