RAS AL KHAIMAH// A drug dealer tried to attack police with a gun when he was arrested last month.

Brigadier Ibrahim Kibtan, director of the drug enforcement department at RAK Police, said police were tipped off about an Emirati man who was selling heroin.

A special team was set up with the Security Inspection Department to monitor the suspect’s activities.

When they moved in to arrest him, Brig Kibtan said he pulled a gun on officers, who were able to subdue the 28-year-old suspect.

They also found heroin, a knife and a knuckleduster weapon on the suspect.

RAK Police also arrested two men suspected of dealing hashish.

The Arab, both aged 24, were caught after trying to sell the drugs to undercover police officers.

“After taking all the legal proceedings in the two cases, they were transferred to the competent authorities to complete the rest of the proceedings against them and to receive their penalty,” said Brig Kibtan.
