DUBAI // Heavy rain is expected in parts of the country today as cloudy conditions bring fresher weather to the country over the next few days.
It will be partly cloudy in general, with cloud increasing over eastern and southern areas resulting in some rain.
Forecasters at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology in Abu Dhabi reported light to moderate winds leading to cooler conditions at times during the day.
“Most likely there is a chance of some heavy rain in the Fujairah area later this afternoon,” said a forecaster.
“It will be for a brief period but we are not expecting any thunderstorms today or in the next few days.
“The conditions will be quite similar over the next few days.”
“The amount of rain will vary but the heaviest will most likely be in eastern parts of the country.”
Inland temperatures will remain high along the coast hitting a maximum of 43°C and 47°C.
Cloudy conditions are expected to continue on Tuesday with the potential for more rain.
The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and rough in the Oman Sea.
The evening will become increasingly uncomfortable as relative humidity rises to 90 per cent tonight and into the early morning.
