Earthquakes and tsunamis pose little threat to the Braka site where nuclear reactors are planned, says a semi-annual report released yesterday by the International Advisory Board, an independent body recruited by the UAE to review the nuclear programme.
The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation calculated that wave run-up from cyclones would not reach the reactor site, the report said.
In March, officials said the report would suggest no major structural changes but made "extra safety recommendations", such as securing emergency power.
