If you miss out on a ticket to attend the Pope’s mass in Abu Dhabi in a couple of weeks’ time, do not despair.
Catholics can now join the pontiff in his prayers with the launch of a new app.
Click to Pray, as it has been named, tells users what the Pope is praying for.
Launching the app from the Apolistic Palace, Pope Francis told the audience: “Today I have two pains in my heart. Colombia and the Mediterranean Sea,” referring to a car bomb in Colombia which killed 20 police cadets and two shipwrecks which left up to 170 people dead.
The pontiff said the internet was a way to “stay in touch with others, to share values and projects and to express the desire to form a community”.
Click to Pray has both a website and an app for both Android and iOS devices. It is available in six languages – Spanish, English, Italian, French, Portuguese and German.
There are three main sections: Pray with the Pope, Pray Every Day and Pray with the Network, allowing people to share their prayers with others.
