No registered Coronavirus cases in the UAE, ministry says

The Ministry of Health said the Epidemiological Investigation Centres in the UAE were working round the clock to early report any detection of virus.

ABU DHABI // There have been no registered cases of the Coronavirus in the UAE, said the Ministry of Health on Thursday.

It said the Epidemiological Investigation Centres in the UAE were working round the clock to early report any detection of virus, according to state news agency, Wam.

The ministry said on Wam that it is monitoring the situation closely at its health facilities in cooperation with other authorities.

It said the diagnosis of suspected cases is conducted through clinical medical check-up and in accordance with the accredited standards and specifications of the World Health Orgainsation (WHO) to detect the virus early.

Dr Alaa Alwan, the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, said that "WHO has not made any recommendation on travel restrictions to any country or area in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Similarly, there are no recommendations on border screening," according to Wam.
