New bus route connects RAK and Abu Dhabi

A new bus service has been launched between Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi.

The service will run from the Ras Al Khaimah bus station in Al Dhait to the downtown Abu Dhabi bus station at 10am and 3pm each Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Return services will run from Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah at 2.30pm and 7.30pm each Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The fare is Dh45 from RAK and Dh35 from Abu Dhabi. Tickets can be purchased on the bus or at the station.

There has been no direct bus service between the two emirates since 2008.

Travellers had to change buses in Sharjah and the journey between RAK and Abu Dhabi averaged more than six hours. By car, the trip takes about two and a quarter hours.
