New Abu Dhabi Media board meets

ABU DHABI // The newly appointed board of Abu Dhabi Media held its first meeting on Wednesday.

The new chairman, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, has also been appointed managing director.

Mr Al Mahmoud expressed his gratitude to the President, Sheikh Khalifa, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for “the trust they bestowed on us as board members of Abu Dhabi Media”.

“We look forward to driving further success for Abu Dhabi Media,” he said.

The other board members are Sheikh Fahim Sultan Khalid Al Qasimi, Noura Al Kaabi, Dr Ali bin Tamim, Dr Omniyat Mohammed Al Hajeri, Hareb Mubarak Abdullah Al Muhairi, Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Hosani and Arif Hamad Saif Al Awani.

They will hold their positions for three years with an option to renew.

Abu Dhabi Media operates across broadcast, publishing and digital media. As well as publishing The National, it is responsible for the leading Arabic-language newspaper Al Ittihad, the television and radio stations Abu Dhabi Al Emarat TV, Abu Dhabi Sports TV, Quran Kareem, Emarat FM, Abu Dhabi FM and Star FM, and the children’s magazine Majid.
