ABU DHABI // A group of men caught drinking alcohol while wearing women’s clothing will be deported after serving their jail sentences, the Cassation Court has ruled. The men were found guilty at Al Ain Criminal Court of wearing women’s clothes and consuming alcohol in public and were sentenced to two months in jail followed by deportation.

They were cleared of a third charge of being drunk in public.

The men applied to Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal for a reversal of the decision of the lower court, which rejected the appeal.

They made a second appeal at the Cassation Court on Monday, arguing that when they were arrested they were not caught in the act.

The Cassation Court rejected their argument as it had not been brought up in previous court hearings.
