DUBAI // Two men sentenced to three years in jail each for spiking a colleague’s drink and then raping him have been told they must see out their prison terms by the Court of Appeal.
Pakistanis S K, 24, and 21-year-old M M both denied carrying out the rape when they first appeared before the Dubai Criminal Court in January.
The Indian victim, D L, 20, said he went to visit the men in their flat in Al Muhaisnah 2 on September 10 last year. He said they offered him a can of Pepsi, which he drank and then lost consciousness.
“They took turns raping me then, when they finished, they took me to the bathroom and hosed me with hot water and threw me out,” said the victim, who was found by friends and taken to his room before police were called. Prosecutors said S K and M M confessed during investigations.
A forensic report said there were no signs of forceful sex on D L’s body, yet both S K and M M were convicted in March. They will be deported after serving their jail terms.
