DUBAI // Two men appeared in court on Wednesday on charges of dealing drugs.

Police were tipped off about the activities of Emirati engineer A A, 35, and Palestinian H R, 36.

They were arrested in a hotel room, where they were taking drugs with another woman.

“We arrested them at 1am of December 14 last year and found a woman in their company and she had been consuming drugs with them,” testified H A, a police captain.

When they searched the house of A A, they found 142 amphetamine tablets, 77.8g of hashish and four Midazolam tablets.

A A insisted the drugs belonged to H R.

The two men were charged with possessing and consuming drugs while the woman was charged with only consuming drugs.

At the Dubai Criminal Court, the woman was not present to enter a plea. H R confessed to all charges while A A denied them.

The next hearing will be on April 9.
