DUBAI // Two men embezzled more than Dh1.5 million from their employer by pocketing money from sales, a court has been told.
Dubai Criminal Court was told the Indians had been embezzling money from the factory since 2012, along with another compatriot, but the crime was only discovered this year.
An account manager at the company, 48, said the men would keep sales off the books.
“I personally investigated one of them and he confirmed how they provided services but did not deposit profits, instead taking them for themselves,” said the manager.
The defendants, aged 47 and 30, were arrested shortly after while the third man remains at large.
The two confessed to an embezzlement charge and the next hearing is scheduled for November 7.
