Man who threatened ex-fiancee with sex video wins suspended jail term

Lebanese man tried to force Iranian woman to marry him after she broke off their engagement when she found out he was already married with children.

A salesman jailed for three months for threatening to kill his ex-fiancée and show her parents a video of them having sex if she did not marry him has had his sentence suspended.

The 32-year-old from Lebanon was convicted of issuing threats using telecommunication means in Dubai after his Iranian girlfriend of three years, 27, broke off their engagement when she discovered he was already married with children.
The woman told police she had helped him with money before she knew about his first wife and children. Then, when she left him, he started sending her threatening texts and would call asking her to marry him. She said the threats started in 2015.
"When I refused, he told me he has a recording of us having sex and he would send it to my family if I didn't marry him. I had no idea he made such a recording," said the woman.
The Lebanese denied a charge of issuing threats in both the criminal and appeal courts. The couple were both charged with having sex outside of wedlock at Dubai Misdemeanours Court but details of the outcome of that case were not available. 
He will be deported immediately without having to serve any jail time as Dubai Court of Appeal suspended his custodial sentence but upheld his deportation order.
