A man who rescued a child from falling from a seventh-floor window has been honoured by Ajman Police.

Mohammed Al Arabi, a Syrian, spotted the boy, 3, climbing up onto the window frame, from his flat in the opposite building.

He hurried up to the boy’s apartment to stop him from falling. He then reported the incident to Al Nuaimiah Police station.

Maj Gen Sheikh Sultan Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of Ajman Police, said the boy’s parents were out of the house and he had been left with his siblings and house maid.

The children were taken to a social support centre while the parents were contacted.

Mr Al Arabi was praised for this quick thinking which police said saved the boy’s life.
