DUBAI// A man who appealed against a three-year jail term for robbing a restaurant has been told he must see out his prison sentence by the Dubai Court of Appeal.

M M, 21, Emirati, was arrested for breaking into the restaurant in Al Nahda and stealing Dh6,186 in February 2012 along with T K, 23, also Emirati.

They were both convicted of armed robbery and damaging property, but only M M appealed his sentence.

Prosecutors said both men were arrested a month after the robbery after T K carried out another raid at a company in Al Qusais.

“T K confessed during interrogations that he had carried out other robberies including the restaurant. He said that they carried out the restaurant robbery at 1:30am,” testified H A, a 28-year-old policeman.
