Man arrested in Abu Dhabi fro growing marijuana

ABU DHABI // A man has been arrested for growing marijuana in his home.

The Asian was arrested as he attempted to sell nearly half a kilogramme of the drug.

Police confiscated plants from the 28-year-old’s home in Abu Dhabi, where they also found more than 600g of the drug and seeds.

The man had soil, lighting and controlled the temperature in his home in order to grow marijuana, said Brig Gen Dr Rashid Bou Rsheid, director of the department of criminal investigation for Abu Dhabi Police.

He said the man admitted plans to harvest the plants.

He was referred to the judicial authorities for further investigation.
