Laywers present court with translations of news articles in defense of port administrator

ABU DHABI // Lawyers representing a port administrator have provided the court with translations of news articles to refute charges that he handed over confidential information.

M E B, 42, from India, is on trial at the Federal Supreme Court for providing confidential information on naval ships to employees at the Indian embassy. He is also accused if using the company’s website to gather the information.

The defendant stated he had only given the information to speed up legal procedures in his home country.

His lawyer, Fayeza Mousa, previously claimed defendant had only confirmed information to the embassy officials that they already they as the information on the ships had been broadcast in the media.

On Monday, Ms Mousa, requested her client’s acquittal.

The verdict will be announced on December 14.
