ABU DHABI // Fans who feared they had missed out on tickets to see The Killers in the capital have nothing to worry about, according to the company organising the December 8 show. A posting on the band's website at the weekend indicated tickets went on sale last Saturday and appeared to confirm that the gig would be held at the Emirates Palace hotel. But Flash Entertainment, which is organising the show, said tickets would not go on sale until this Sunday, as was previously announced, and the venue has not been confirmed.
"That is inaccurate," said a Flash employee who asked not to be named. "What rock bands print on their websites and what happens on the local market level are two different things. "We've already made a statement and anything new would just be to reiterate on news that was sent before, which is that [the sales date online] is still October 4." An e-mail and phone calls to The Killers public relations team were not returned yesterday.
General admission standing tickets to see The Killers will cost Dh295 (US$80), while the front pit standing tickets will be Dh595. Ticket prices for the tent and pit go up to Dh695. mkwong@thenational.ae
