Khalifa Foundation funded mass wedding sees 220 couples married

Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani said this years wedding was even more significant as it coincided with the UAE's 43rd National Day.

More than 220 couples were married in a mass wedding in Bahrain as the UAE’s Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation funded the ceremony for the fourth consecutive year.

Speaker of Bahrain’s Council of Representatives Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani said the foundation’s generosity underlined the depth of fraternal relations between the UAE and Bahrain, adding it promoted community partnership throughout the GCC.

He said this year’s mass wedding, in which more than 3000 men and women were married, carried a special significance as it coincided with the UAE’s 43rd National Day.

Since 2011, UAE’s Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation has assisted in the marriage of 888 couples.
