Hookah pipes with the UAE flag on them were seized during an inspection of tobacco shops in Umm Al Quwain.
Jumaa Ahmad, head of the consumer protection section at the Department of Economic Development in UAQ, said necessary measures were taken against shops that committed breaches.
He urged tobacco shop owners to comply with public health and safety requirements, adding that a hookah in the shape of a football and with the UAE flag on it was disrespectful to national symbols.
