UAE ministry health cards allow expats to get treated at half price

Health cards for non-Emiratis will cost Dh500 to renew every year and replacement cards will cost Dh300, following a recent ministerial decision.

In Dubai and the Northern Emirates, cards issued by the Ministry of Health allow non-Emiratis to get treatment at Government hospitals in emergency cases for half the cost of a non-card holder.

Vice President and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid set the fees for healthcare and diagnostic services for card holders. People who don't have the cards will be required to pay 100 per cent of the cost of healthcare services.

The new fees will be effective within 60 days.
