The Ministry of Health has warned people against buying unregistered health products online.
"There is a significant risk in the promotion and sale of medical products and devices without the medical approval or advice from a specialised doctor," said Dr Amin Al Amiri, the assistant undersecretary for medical practices and licensing at the ministry.
Dr Al Amiri said the ministry monitored websites and had already asked to the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority to block a website that sells contact lenses.
