FUJAIRAH // The Ministry of Health is planning to open three medical centres in June for a three-month trial period, with the official opening planned for the last quarter.

Dr Mohamed Bin Saeed, director of Fujairah Medical Zone, told Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National, that two health care centres, Dadna and Al Khulaibia, were funded by initiatives from Sheikh Khalifa, the President of the UAE.

The third health centre in Al Okameya, which is located in Dibba Al Fujairah, was funded by an individual philanthropist, said the doctor.

The Ministry of Health, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, has recently earmarked an operating budget for the three centres, with 120 staff hired to run the facilities.
