Sheikha Al Jalila donates medical equipment worth Dh9m to Jordan

The equipment will be installed in hospitals across Jordan over the next two months and includes life-saving technology such as incubators, ventilators, defibrillators and blood bank equipment.

ABU DHABI // Medical equipment worth Dh9 million has been donated to the Jordanian Ministry of Health by Sheikha Al Jalila bint Mohammed bin Rashid.

The donation came on the day of the birthday of Sheikha Al Jalila’s grandfather, the late King Hussein of Jordan.

The equipment, which began being shipped on Sunday, will be installed in hospitals across Jordan over the next two months and includes life-saving technology such as incubators, ventilators, defibrillators and blood bank equipment.

The funding reflects the close ties between the UAE and Jordan, said state news agency Wam.

“We are extremely grateful to Sheikha Al Jalila for her generous donation of medical equipment to hospitals across Jordan,” said Dr Mahmoud Al Shaib, Jordan’s Minister of Health.

“She follows in the footsteps of her parents, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, and we are blessed to have so much support extended to us to promote the sustainable development of Arab countries like Jordan.”
