ABU DHABI // The psychiatric rehabilitation unit at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City has received recognition from the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation Collaborating Centre for Training and Research.
The WAPR, a non-governmental organisation with consultative status in the World Health Organization, acknowledges global leaders in the field of psychiatry.
The psychiatric rehabilitation unit at SKMC is the largest psychiatric centre in the country, and serves as the nation’s leading resource for clinical work, education and research.
Dr Medhat Elsabbahy, head of the psychiatric rehabilitation department at SKMC said: “Our multidisciplinary approach has helped the department gain international recognition for psychiatric excellence, and we look forward to working closely with WAPR to ensure our patients are treated with the best care possible.”
