A new mobile breastfeeding unit has been announced at Al Qasba, a popular tourist destination in Sharjah, to allow mothers to feed their infants.
The unit announced by the Sharjah Baby-Friendly Emirate Campaign will be present during Ramadan and contains necessary breastfeeding equipment such as chair, a refrigerator and awareness brochures.
Dr Hessa Khalfan Al Ghazal, director of the executive committee of the Sharjah Baby-Friendly Emirate Campaign, said, “Our campaign aims to contribute to building a healthy community and ensure the health of individuals through initiatives such as the providing breastfeeding rooms and by taking care of mothers and their infants at the workplace as well as public places.”
