Abu Dhabi Health Authority has ordered a batch of aspirin made by Wockhardt to be immediately withdrawn from the market.

The decision to pull the aspirin 300mg tablets, whose serial number starts with “L”, came after problems were found with the manufacturing process.

Another product made by Wockhardt, Amiloride HCI tablets also with the L branding and a type of diuretic, has also been recalled.

The authority said the two products are not registered with the Ministry of Health but it is possible they are available in some pharmacies and hospitals.

It called on all pharmacies to stop selling both products.
