The Zakat Fund has helped hundreds of elderly Emiratis, spending Dh9.5 million since the start of the year.
Assistance was provided in about 520 cases involving the elderly, to ease their circumstances and to guarantee a decent life for them and their families, said Mohammed Al Balushi, the zakat recipients department manager.
The fund also helps the poor and needy who are eligible beneficiaries.
Citizens can submit their applications via the Zakat Fund website, zakatfund.ae, reported Wam, the state news agency.
