DUBAI // Housing aid to the tune of Dh244 million has been approved for 473 Emirati families.
Following the directives of the President, Sheikh Khalifa, and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has announced the names of Emiratis eligible for aid.
The aid includes 57 grants, 399 interest-free loans and 17 houses.
“The SZHP and the UAE leaders are committed to ensuring a high standard of living and quality of life for all Emirati families,” said Dr Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the SZHP.
He said the SZHP had cancelled 2,508 cases where citizens who were approved for housing aid had not contacted the authorities within the given time.
“This has cleared Dh1.191 billion for the programme to allocate to other Emiratis eligible for aid.”
A meeting of its Board of Directors reviewed the projects currently under way and those planned in the near future, including the Khalifa housing complex, the Union housing complex and others in Fujairah, which are scheduled for completion in October.
It also reviewed plans for a 159-unit housing complex in Al Quoz it is working on with Dubai Municipality, the RTA and the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Programme.
