ABU DHABI // A decade of remarkable leadership by the President, Sheikh Khalifa, has seen the country scale new heights in strengthening developments in all fields, said the President’s representative.
Monday sees the UAE celebrate Flag Day and mark the anniversary of Sheikh Khalifa becoming the President in 2004.
Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed joined the chorus of praise for Sheikh Khalifa who he said followed the path of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed.
In 10 years the Emirates has witnessed quantum leaps in strengthening the infrastructure and construction of more vital facilities and providing more attention to increase investments in the UAE, Sheikh Sultan said.
Among Sheikh Khalifa’s many achievements has been in establishing the UAE in a prominent position on the global political scene with an active presence in major developments, he said.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, said the Flag Day celebration coincided with the accession of Sheikh Khalifa to the presidency.
“It is one celebration to mark the two unified occasions to reflect the allegiance of Emirati people to their leadership,” he said.
The occasion also evoked the spirit of the founding father of the Union, he added.
Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, said the UAE Flag “inspires us to score more achievements in all fields”.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Hamiri, Secretary General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, said the celebration of Flag Day “is an epitome of the spirit of the Union and national work”.
