KALBA // Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has offered his condolences to the family of fallen UAE serviceman Sultan Saeed Al Mazrouie.

Al Mazroeui died last week due to a failure in a vehicle’s engine in Yemen, where he was part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition’s Operation Restoring Hope.

According to Wam, the state news agency, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for his soul.

He was accompanied by his son, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Lt Gen Misbah Al Fattan, director of the office, and Khalifa Saeed, director general of the department of protocol and hospitality in Dubai.

Yemen’s minister of human rights, Izz Al Din Al Asbahi, praised the role played by the UAE in Yemen.

His comments came at a press conference held by the Arab Commission for Human Rights at the Arab League in Cairo to review its report on Yemen.

Mr Al Asbahi said the UAE plays a great role in restoring full stability in Yemen, and said that UAE martyrs’ sacrifices emphasise the promotion of Arab unity.

Dr Hadi Bin Ali Al Yami, chairman of Arab Human Rights Committee, The Charter Committee, said the report included important observations about the violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.

He expressed his deep regret over the humanitarian situation that has led to suffering of the Yemeni people.
