Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid hailed the UAE as one of the safest countries in the world after touring the headquarters of the State Security Department in Dubai.

The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai cited the country's state-of-the art security facilities - and its readiness to embrace new technology - as key to its success in protecting the public.

Sheikh Mohammed was joined on the visit by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, chairman of Dubai Media Council.

The royal delegation was welcomed by Maj Gen Talal Belhoul, deputy director general of state security in Dubai, Maj Gen Awad Hader Al Muhair and other senior officials.

Sheikh Mohammed said the efforts of security personnel to keep pace with global advancements had helped make the UAE one of the most secure nations across the globe.

The Dubai Ruler was briefed on the security department's future projects.

He expressed his thanks to security staff and stressed that the country's leadership has great faith in their abilities to safeguard the public.
