Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held talks with the king of Bahrain as part of the monarch's tour of the UAE.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces hosted King Hamad at a Sea Palace barza in the capital on Monday.

The two exchanged cordial talk about the longstanding relationship between their two countries and their desire to advance bilateral relations, reported state news agency Wam.

They also discussed the latest regional developments and a number of issues of mutual concern.

A number of other dignitaries were in attendance, including Sheikh Rashid bin Saud Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain; Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed, the Ruler's Representative in Al Ain and Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed.

As well as his royal appointment at the palace, King Hamad also visited one of Dubai's latest tourist attractions, Love Lake, the man-made lake near Al Qudra, Dubai, shaped like two intertwined love hearts.

Hidden killer

Sepsis arises when the body tries to fight an infection but damages its own tissue and organs in the process.

The World Health Organisation estimates it affects about 30 million people each year and that about six million die.

Of those about three million are newborns and 1.2 are young children.

Patients with septic shock must often have limbs amputated if clots in their limbs prevent blood flow, causing the limbs to die.

Campaigners say the condition is often diagnosed far too late by medical professionals and that many patients wait too long to seek treatment, confusing the symptoms with flu.
