RAK Crown Prince enrols for national service

RAS AL KHAIMAH // The Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, completed his enrolment for national service in the UAE armed forces yesterday.

According to state news agency Wam, Sheikh Mohammed said that the federal national service and reserve law will enhance the nation’s ability to defend national security and stability.

“National service is a medal of honour for the UAE citizens and a sacred duty to the nation’s leadership, which has spared no effort to maintain stability and glory of its people and position the UAE among the advanced nations of the world in terms of human development and cultural and urban achievements,” he said.

He noted that the high turnout for recruitment demonstrated a high sense of patriotism and responsibility among the people of the UAE.

“The law aims to instil values of loyalty and sacrifice in the hearts of the citizens to defend the achievements and gains of the union, push forward the wheel of development, protect national security and stability. Under the law, citizens answer the call of national duty. We, the youth, are the only capable and worthy force to defend the homeland and preserve its achievements and values,” he said.

Sheikh Mohammed said that the role of women was of equal importance when serving the country.

‘’We have proudly followed up the issue of engaging UAE girls in the national service which reflects their loyalty and love to their nation and their readiness to be in the front lines along with their male partners ... we will all be together in the training camp under the sun and the shade to serve our nation,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
