A joint military and health exercise will be carried out in Dubai at the weekend.

Called Taawon Al Haq 12, the annual two-day exercise will begin tomorrow at 4am in Al Shamkhah and Jebel Ali.

It will involve members of the UAE Armed Forces, health workers and civil defence crews.

The drills will require teams to undergo medical evacuation exercises to prepare them for any emergency situations.

On Thursday, authorities warned the public, and residents of the two areas in particular, to expect loud noises during the exercise.

It will include the use of helicopters, armoured personnel carriers, ambulances, vehicles of police and civil defence units.

Photos and videos of the drills are strictly prohibited.

The UAE Armed Forces will take part the training exercise, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority and the Ministry of Interior.
