British officials have announced the itinerary of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall during their visit to the UAE next month.
The Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla will visit the Emirates from November 6 to 8 as part of a three-nation tour in the region.
It will be the eighth time that he has visited the UAE since his first tour in 1989. They last visited the UAE together in 2007.
The royal couple will seek to promote the UK’s partnerships in the region in areas including religious tolerance, support of women in leadership, opportunities for youth, the preservation of cultural heritage and wildlife conservation, the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said on Thursday.
They will visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to promote religious tolerance in a multi-faith event to be hosted by Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Tolerance.
Prince Charles will tour Bu Tinah archipelago, a Unesco site about 150 kilometres from the capital, which is a sanctuary for endangered species such as the dugong and hawksbill turtle.
They will also attend a celebration at Jahili Fort in Al Ain and a Youth Circle event in Masdar City, said Philip Parham, British ambassador to the UAE.
“The relationship between the UK and UAE is historic and modern, deep and broad, sound and creative,” Mr Parham said.
The couple are also expected to visit Oman and Bahrain on their tour.
