A 13-truck aid convoy packed with medicine and food supplies was dispatched from the UAE to the Gaza Strip to help those affected by the snowstorm in the Levant, Iraq and the Palestinian territories.
Dr Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) secretary-general, said that the latest aid efforts were in response to the Tarahamu campaign to provide winter assistance to refugees in the affected areas.
He said that in the last two weeks, and during the first phase of the relief campaign, the ERC had distributed winter aid supplies to more than 500 Palestinian families in the eastern side of Gaza City, which included electric heaters, blankets and food.
