DUBAI // Dubai Police has launched an app for Emiratis to request the repatriation of dead bodies.

In an effort to provide more smart services, the online platform will allow applicants to request repatriation to the UAE from abroad for burial after submitting a death certificate, certified by UAE consulates abroad.

Lt Col Khalid Al Razzouqi, director of the electronic services department, said a plan was in place to shift all electronic services into smart services in line with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

To use the service, applicants must fill in the basic information online, including ID number, relationship to the deceased, deceased’s ID number, date of death, place of burial in the UAE and email address. A certified death certificate must be attached before submission. After the applicant’s phone number is verified, they receive a conformation of receipt.

The new service is part of the Dubai Smart Initiative.
