Dubai Police launch new child protection programme

The awareness programme aims to support children and protect them against harm and violence.

A project called Ambassadors of Safety was launched by the Dubai Police Child Protection Committee on Wednesday.

At an event to launch the project on Kite Beach, the department said it has helped 30 children so far this year, police said, according to Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.

Cases included children who dropped out of school or had no Emirates ID, or were molested, police said.
