DUBAI // A Dh5.5 million education programme will be launched in Mexico as part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Initiatives, said Dubai Cares.

In cooperation with Sesame Workshop, Dubai Cares is expecting that the programme will benefit 1.5 million children between the ages of three and six over the next three years.

The initiative will include web-based series, training programmes and resources for families and teachers.

“Dubai Cares identified a programme that will effectively address the many difficulties children, teachers and schools face when it comes to early childhood education, especially when it comes to the learning experience and teachers’ capacity,” said Tariq Al Gurg, chief executive of the philanthropic organisation.

“We are expecting results that will enrich the education process for all children, no matter if they are boys or girls, especially in parts of the country that are currently deprived of quality maths and science resources.”
