ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, arrived in Moscow on Monday night on a two-day working visit at the invitation of the Russian president Vladimir Putin.
The Crown Prince will hold talks with Mr Putin and will also attend Tuesday’s opening of the MAKS International Aviation and Space Show.
As Sheikh Mohammed arrived, Mubadala Petroleum, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi government investment vehicle Mubadala, neared a deal with Rosneft, Russia’s largest oil company, to develop two oilfields in Siberia.
The deal would be the culmination of a tie-up announced in May last year when the two companies agreed to cooperate on oil developments in Russia and joint projects in other countries.
Sheikh Mohammed is accompanied in Russia by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, National Security Adviser and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a number of officials.
