ABU DHABI // Students from the Abu Dhabi Police Academy visited the Wahat Al Karama memorial to pay their respects.
The site was built to honour the heroic acts of fallen Emiratis and commemorate the sacrifices they made for their country.
The students toured the memorial and visited the pavilion of honour, the walls of which feature the names of the fallen and Quranic verses. They recited Al Fatihah prayers for the souls of the heroes.
The delegation was accompanied by Lt Col Mohamed Butti Al Shamsi, deputy director of the admission and registration department at the Police Academy.
Lt Col Al Shamsi said that the aim of the visit was to express pride and appreciation for those honoured by the memorial and to renew the pledge to follow in their footsteps in defending the homeland.
