ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi Municipality confiscated 71 goats as part of a crackdown on illegal livestock traders in Baniyas.
The municipality said it also issued four warnings to people found illegally trading livestock. It donated the goats to the Emirates Red Crescent for charity.
It also discovered other practices including the disposal of dead bodies of animals in the area.
A campaign was recently launched by the municipality, Baniyas Police Station, the Department of Economic Development and the Waste Management Centre to target unlicensed sellers of livestock near Baniyas Slaughterhouse.
